So i get in my '95 to go to work this morning, and the damn thing won't start. Normally there would be an easy solution: Throw my parking pass in the ACR and take it to work. Problem being my ACR's headgasket blew over the weekend.
So I try push-starting it, and fortunately it goes first time. I drive it down the street and back home, sure anouth it won't start on it's own again. Plan was to get 'ol blue running, go to the parts store and get a new starter for it. Then I start thinking "wait, I can yank the starter of the dead ACR..." I grab the Haynes manual and start looking at how to change the starter, when I start reading through various troubleshooting steps. I test some of the wires with a meter and everything is cool, then it occurred to me to maybe test the starter relay. I grab the relay out of the ACR and sho'nuff, it cranked right over.
So yeah, I spent over an hour troubleshooting a problem that took me about 30 seconds to fix. But hey, at least it didn't really cost me anything!
Just figured I'd share...

Haha... sucks when that happens. I've done that a few times for different problems and it's always something stupidly simple to fix and I didn't think of it first. Good thing you didn't have 2 dead neons.
