Modern Performance and FedEx can both eat a dick
Modern Performance and FedEx can both eat a dick
So I ordered my HG stuff from Modern 2 weeks ago and it still isn;t here. Modern sent the stuff FerdEx Home Delivery, even though I told them the address was for a business. This caused FedEx to reroute the package where they claim delivery was attempted twice (total BS) and I've since been told twice "oh it will be there tomorrow." After I got the tracking number from Modern and realized what happened, I emailed them back informing them of their mistake, and I got no response whatsoever. A simple "my bad" would have been nice, but no response at all after feeling like an annoyance every time I have ordered from them (always the same guy) makes me have second thoughts about ever ordering from them again. I've been working in shipping departments for over 3 years now, I know how this shit is supposed to work, and 2 weeks for a package from texas is fucking rediculous even if it is slow-ass FedEx Ground.
Not that I have much love for Gary after the shit I have heard of him pulling, but I have to admit I have had better customer service from Howell than from Modern with a similar amount of purchases from each. Completely backasswards from what people generally say about the two places.

ive had fun with both places, modern told me they had that atrocious Pacesetter exhaust i wanted so badly in stock, then didnt charge me anything after 2 weeks. i called them back and asked what the deal was, they told me it was suddenly out of stock... hmm, i asked when they would get some in, they said, 3 or 4 weeks (!) i said i just wanted to cancel the order, and i would re-order when the part was in stock, and the dude got real shitty with me, like, " why dont you just keep the order? it will be in soon enough" (except not that nice) and i told him to stuff it up his cornhole because i wasnt waiting a month with a 200 dollar charge pending to fuck me over. he said (exact quote) "whatever" and actually hung up on me. i called Howell and ordered the in stock piece of shit, it shipped the next day, and UPS fucked me around for 3 weeks to ship it 400 miles to me... they said it was howells fault, howell said it was their fault. i did order my Energy suspensions MM insert from modern, and got them in like 4 days. its stupid, but you never can tell whats going to happen. thats the beauty of our new electronic age...
just remember, killer is sneaky... and, he hates you.

I order from Modern every time with absolutly no problems. Never ordered from Howell b/c I can't stand him/them and hear about too many shipping problems. Always had great luck with Modern

They don't give you an attitude? It's like every time I call there I feel like I'm treated as an inconvenience. I doubt I will order from them again unless they have something not available anywhere else or have a lot better price on a particular item.
Well the stuff finally showed up, but man this whole ordeal really took away the joy that is normally associated when recieving car parts in the mail.
Now if my roommate will make some room in the garage (currently 5 motorcycles) I can actually get to work.

Exactly the same here. In fact, sometimes it's been a joy to talk to Modern on the phone because the guy has actually asked about my Neon and bullshit with me for a little bit about Neons.Diablo0 wrote:I order from Modern every time with absolutly no problems. Sorry to hear your experience wasn't as enjoyable Vin.

Every now and then I get one dude there that seems like he doesn't give a shit but last time I talked to that guy it had to be like a year ago. Then again I haven't ordered anything from them in a year but I still didn't really have a prob with the guy since my order was always correct. I recently placed a few orders and got one guy that was very kewl, made sure my order was correct right by reading it back and stuff, and then I got Cory this past time which he's always kewl and even chatted with him for a bit... then again he knows me soVinny wrote:They don't give you an attitude?

Yeah it's always been the same guy every time I've called, if I had to guess I'd say he had an asian accent.

Well, I think there was actually four when you were there. Someone broke into our garage one night and stole the little Honda leaving three, then he had a old KX200 he rebuilt the motor on for some dude, and a an old Suzuki he was building from parts for some chick because the husband went to jail and she needed to sell it. The KX200 is now gone, as soon as the Suzuki leaves and this old tire changer he got goes to the shed I should be able to make enough room to get my car in there.
i so can't wait to move into my own house next year.

Did you check Jeg's? That's where I pick up all my stuff if I don't order it, I'm only about an hour away from 2 of their shops, I think they have 4 or 5 around the Columbus area.Vinny wrote:Yeah, nowhere local carries ARP head studs for a Neon though. Oh well.

Jegs might have been able to get it for me, but they're a good distance away from me. I don't think it is something that they stock, though I could be wrong. Maybe I should try, I think I'm gonna get a set of ARP exhaust manifold studs as well.

Eh, won't hurt to go ahead and give them a call and ask. They've always been really cool with me and they've always either had what I wanted in stock at the store I call or they have it at another store and will have somebody run it over to the store you're calling. Might be different for you, but I'm close enough to where it's cheaper to drive there than to have the stuff shipped, depending on what I'm getting.
