OHIO SUCKS!!!

Post by lil red one »

Just made a round trip loop from 71n to I275w to 75n to 70w to indy than back strait 74 to cinci and was reminded how bad we have it here!Saw 3 ohio cops and what must have been 50 miles of scattered construction where the speed limit drops to 55mph before I crossed in2 indiana , then once I crossed the state line it was all gone and a 70mph speed limit with no cops all the way to indy! Sure there was some construction on the way back on 74 but there was no posted drop in the speed limit and slower traffic actually did stay to the right! You indiana guys are spoiled!Of course as soon as you cross in2 ohio youre welcome by more friggin construction 2cops and a drop to 55mph.Way to welcome those from outa state!

Yep... OH will never raise the limit to 70. My cousin works for ODOT and even though he'd like it to see it at 70mph ODOT is dead set that the 5mph makes all the difference.

Atleast they did finally finish the construction up on 71 around Washington Courthouse. The construction around Harrison sucks though which I'm guessing you hit on 74. I will say though that Indiana's roads suck ass for quality. I hate having to drive to indy just b/c the interstate is so crappy.

Thats true, we do have an insanely amount of staties in Ohio. I drive from Wellston to Jackson(our neighboring town), its about 8 miles and I always see one or two cops! There is no way there needs to be two cops on that one LITTLE strech of highway! :x

Yea it's ridiculous! I'm reminded everytime I leave the state how much it sucks here.I once drove strait from here to naples florida like 50miles north of the keys and I stopped seeing cops as soon as I left ohio.Thats when I discovered my cruise control wouldnt work over 85 mph cause I would have set it at 100 if it would have let me!Same with my trip last night.
I'l take a crummy road over a $125 ticket any day!...and our interstate is just as bad except 25 percent of it is "coned off" so you dont notice as much

preach it bro! around here it looks like a big jig-saw puzzle, all the "construction" and shtuff. whats even worse is besides the staties havin residence IN our town, they seem to feel they can patrol it too. that sucks because F-town cops are...lets just say you can get away with the big and can get pulled over for nothing

Ohio has a had a rep for being a bad cop state for decades.

And yes Ohio sucks, for more than just that. I will always regret moving back here from AZ.

I don't know if I can go as far as saying that OHIO SUCKS like some of you guys, but I have definitely been to better states. I have lived in; Ohio, Texas, Minnesota, and Colorado. Out of all of those hands down the best is Colorado. I lived there for a few months with my Mom, and absolutly loved it. My wife and I are debating between moving to Colorado, Texas, and Minnesota when I graduate from school.

Ohio is for sure the worst of all of the states I have lived in as far as cops go. Although I did get pulled over in Texas for doing 72 in a 70. He let me off with a warning, but I was still like WTF!!!

indiana does a much worse job than ohio on clearing snow from their highways during freak blizzards though.

My biggest problem here is both the high number of staties and the absolute POS they consider to be roads. I thought I destroyed my SRT-4 soon after I got it when I was heading south on 71 just past the Greenlawn Ave. exit at night and hit a pot hole, I thought it had to either break something or at the very least bend/dent the wheel. Thankfully it survived without damage.

Ohio has been far too well known for it's police on the streets, so much so that they even specifically mentioned it in the movie The Cannonball Run. Right before the race starts one guy is giving all the racers a last minute talk in which he say,"Think of the fact that there is not one state in the 50, that has the death penalty for speeding.....although I'm not so sure about Ohio." It doesn't get much worse than that now does it.

Tell me about it, before I got my SRT-4 I never really noticed the problem we have with crappy roads. Believe me NOW I NOTICE everyday. Everyday when I get home I check my wheels and tires to see if they are OK.

Yea that south freeway headed down toward grove city is horrible, Odot really needs to do something about that. :x

Yep. It's a big problem between 70 and Stringtown Rd. on 71 going either way. The only driveably lane is the hammer lane, the other two are segmented and chunked. Even worse is W.Broad St. between Central Ave. and Wilson, but mainly between Central and 70, the right lane in both directions (especially during winter) is worse than a rock crawling course and has holes large enough to swallow a Neon. And most of 270 below 70 all the way to each side is not that good either, but the hammer lane is ok.

Pretty much all the roads here suck unless they've been repaved within the past 2 years, and then it still isn't necessarily good.

Well I know that they had construction on the south outerbelt, from like Georgesville to a little bit past 71 goin Eastbound. I live out in the Reynoldsburg/Pataskala area and a major headache for me is all the shit that they are doing with 161. Its a mess up there!
