I was heading north on U.S. 25 (the old highway) out of Dry Ridge Monday when I spotted a red Viper convt with Michigan manufacturer plates. The driver pulled over as I passed him red lights/siren so I got a good look at the plates.

My contacts didn't have any ideas why the car was down here. The body was stock so the car is most likely a powertrain development vehicle.

P.S. Michigan Revenue Cabinet charges road tax per mile driven on their manufacturer plates so the car was down here on corporate business.

hmm, interesting. i see various BMW's with manufacturer plates all the time, but that's cause there's some BMW financial offices near my house and work.

but interesting seeing a viper in KY with mfr. plates. :?

UPDATE

I was leaving the fire station Tuesday morning after shift when a black Viper convt with the Michigan mfgr plates turned from the new bypass and got onto I-75 north.

I pulled off the interstate behind the car at the Crittenden exit and got to chat with the occupants while at the traffic light.

Turns out the cars are at the Dana Axle plant in Dry Ridge for drivetrain development work.
