yep. i decided i was tired of FWD and good gas mileage, so i now have...

a 1967 Chrysler Newport Custom!! w00t!

actually, i sort of inherited it, it was my grandmothers, and my great grandmothers before that. i am the 4th owner, the second owner in my family. its a 383 2 bbl auto 4 door sedan, makes 260hp and 390 lb/ft of torque, stock. its a little rough right now, but it ran when it was parked/retired in 92, its just been sitting in the sun for 13 years...

ill get some pics tomorrow, i just rolled her off the flatbed and into the garage a few hours ago. she gonna be my "sunday crusier"/ gas guzzler beast. im fixing it up in memory of my grandmother, who passed away in 96 from Alzheimers. i was very close to her and im overjoyed to have something that belonged to her that i can remeber her by.

ill keep everyone updated on the progress.

My Dad has a 440 block sitting on a stand if you are interested. :)

There's actually a guy around here with a solid but rough-looking '66 Newport 2-door with a nasty dual-quad 440 in it. The car looks nasty, but it's from Cali so it's solid, and the motor looks brand new and shiny. License plate says "SLEEPER".

I've wanted one of those for a long time. For some reason, I see myself in a Newport with that blue-green paint... Hey, I think it looks good on that car. :)

that paypal idea is pretty good. ill come around once a month and pick up all the "donate-ees" and cruise them around for a while...im pretty sure everyone who donates will fit.

hey vinny, does your dad have any leads to a place i could find a straight rear bumper and interior? later/earlier model/year cars should fit also, chrysler/plymouth/dodge, im just looking for something that you can sit on without getting stabbed by a spring on get covered in old vinyl dust and crud. im eventually going to get the original seats recovered, but in the mean time im sure it will be cheaper to find replacemnts. (the interior is dark blue... on a basically orange/copper car... wtf were they thinking? im thinking black or tan would look better...

oh, jason, would you be so kind as to host a few pics for me?

My Dad probabaly wouldn't know of anything like that, most of the guys he knows are into B and A-bodies. I'm gonna talk to him in a few minutes here, I'll tell him to keep an eye peeled for ya anyways.

Looking forward to pics!

i couldnt get anyone to help me push it out of the garage today, so i didnt get any pics... :? i tried to take some of it in the garage, but i cant really get far enough away from it to get the whole car in the frame... yeah, its that big. my garage is 24 feet wide and 22 feet deep, and it literally fills half of the garage.

Jason, be looking out for them...

Just one guy's opinion on the exterior: I'd bag the suspension, look into chopping the top a good three inches, paint the whole body black (matte preferable), black-out everything in the grille except the center piece and headlights, shave the door handles and lower molding, old-school Halibrand wheels and tint the windows. Man, that would be SINISTER.

Makes me want one...
