Ever since I switched to the shorter a/c delete belt the belt pops off at high rpms.If you look at it even as it sits idling you can see the belt wobbling if you look at it dead strait.Had the stocker on there for 100,000 miles and never had this prob.

I had a problem with my stock ps belt when I hit the rev limiter. At first it must have simply gotten rolled over in the pulley grove, because it was fine for two day and then all of the sudden I had really patchy and difficult steering. I pulled over to check it out and the belt was laying there in the engine compartment, it didn't break, it just came off.

1G or 2G? V-groove (1 older style 'belt') or serpentine (multi-grooved)?

It is a V groove and it happened to my '99 Neon R/T.

Both sound like a case of too much slack to me. If you can see it "wobbling" at idle, then you should try to take care of it before driving. Sometimes a pry bar or rubber mallet can help persuade the belt to get a little tighter.

yea by the way it's a first gen with the v groove belt and I used my ratchets first the 1/4 then the 1/2 then the full inch wedged underneath then yanking up on it till it wouldn't go up any farther. Is there a better way?

Not sure which cars this applies to, but the PS pump on my '97 DOHC has a square hole to accommodate a 1/2" drive breaker bar to use for leverage, I don't recall my '98 SOHC having such a thing though.

If anyone needs a belt I have a bunch, new and used.
